Joker is one of the iconic villains in film history, much like McGregor, who essayed the role of the villain through his trash talks. Incidentally, McGregor’s co-star in Roadhouse, Jake Gyllenhaal, has also worked with Ledger as romantic interest in another highly acclaimed movie, Brokeback Mountain. Moreover, Ledger got Academy Award nominations for his performances in both movies but only won for The Dark Knight.
Nonetheless, McGregor has riled up fans worldwide after the release of the trailer of Roadhouse. The trailer showed McGregor engaging in a brawl with Gyllenhaal and also showed his charisma. Unfortunately for fans, the film will not have a theatrical release as Amazon Prime has exclusive rights to it.
Conor McGregor reaffirms his intention to fight in June
Conor McGregor has not fought since he lost to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in unfortunate circumstances. He broke his leg in the first round of the fight and had a Titanium rod inserted inside his leg. Fans and fighters initially thought that McGregor’s absence was due to the stringent anti-doping policy of the USADA.
However, the UFC did not partner with USADA after the end of the deal and instead partnered with Drug-Free Sports International. McGregor recently revealed that the new anti-doping partner tested him multiple times. Moreover, he recently revealed via Instagram stories that he wanted to fight on June 29th against Michale Chandler. He reaffirmed the statement to Paparazzi recently as he was on his film promotion duties.
McGregor also revealed that he had no other movie roles lined up. Nonetheless, UFC CEO Dana White recently revealed that the film promotion is the reason for McGregor’s delayed comeback. Moreover, he stated that the UFC is hoping for a September return for the sport’s biggest superstar.
