Conor McGregor remembered his glorious knockout of Eddie Alvarez in a recent social media post. McGregor was the most hyped fighter in the history of the UFC and certainly still holds that position. However, during his prime, McGregor was a different beast and his success skyrocketed like no other fighter.
One of McGregor’s top moments was when the Irishman became the first-ever UFC double champion in 2016. The fighter recently shared an edit on his official Twitter account about him knocking out Alvarez at UFC 205.
It was shared on another account, which captioned it, “Stumbled across one of the coolest edits ever.” The edit also featured Kanye West’s song Praise God from his last album, Donda. McGregor shared it and mentioned that he got the most knockdowns in a title fight against Canelo Alvarez, “The most knockdowns in a UFC title fight,” wrote McGregor on X.
At UFC 205, the Irishman achieved an unprecedented feat in the world of combat sports. At Madison Square Garden, McGregor made history by winning the UFC lightweight title in a remarkable and unmatched performance.
McGregor celebrated on top of the cage after taking Alvarez’s lightweight championship belt. Alongside it, he proudly displayed the featherweight title he had claimed from Jose Aldo in 2015. It was truly an iconic night for many MMA fans.

Conor McGregor’s has a massive following and given the things he has done to the sport, there are many iconic moments of the fighter. However, Champ-Champ’s night and the incredible speech he gave after winning the belt, definitely have a separate fan base.
Many in the comments mentioned that it was McGregor’s best performance of his UFC career. Fans praised the fight and called it a masterpiece by the ‘Mystic Mac’.
