“Will grace the Squared Circle”Conor McGregor reveals ambitious plans to box while providing updates on an MMA return at Monaco GP
Conor McGregor seen entering the Monaco GP Circuit
Conor McGregor was spotted at the Monaco Grand Prix alongside his family where Conor also took a moment to chat with Kevin Magnussen of the Haas F1 team, as they stopped for a picture together. This comes after Conor spent a good part of the last month in Cannes, France where he was seen training while also attending various festivities at the Cannes Film Festival
Conor McGregor has been out of action for the past 10 months due to a broken fibula he suffered during his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier ending in a TKO victory for the American. While Conor was stuck on insisting that it was a doctor’s stoppage, the fans felt that the momentum of the fight was surely favoring Poirier.
Now the Irishman has been recently seen getting back into the gym and seemingly has entered a light-work camp, where he primarily focuses on boxing. The former two-division UFC champion has been seen hitting the heavy bag and also working on his ground and pound calling himself the most dangerous vertical striker in the game.
Conor McGregor reveals an upcoming shift in training after Monaco GP
At the Monaco GP, Conor was interviewed by sky sports where “The Notorious One” provided an update on his health and his anticipated return to action. Mcgregor revealed that he was back training Boxing and will soon be able to kick again after a few more scans. He said, “The body’s doing good, I’m out here with my full team” detailing on how he will be increasing the intensity of his training bit by bit after attending the GP. “I should be able to kick now, another CT scan in the coming days and I should be clear to kick” said McGregor indicating that once he is able to kick and grapple, he’ll be “back in no time”
Conor McGregor was then asked about another boxing fight and its viability in his career in the near future, he replied, “Boxing is my first love in combat sports” saying his first time in the squared circle (against undefeated Floyd Mayweather) was a memorable affair. However, McGregor clarified that his return to combat sports will be inside the Octagon for the UFC saying, “That story is far from over, in fact that story is just being wrote, it’s just beginning.” He didn’t outright close the door on a future boxing bout saying, “I will grace the squared circle again in the furture”
