Conor McGregor is the former two-division champion of the UFC with notoriety for trash-talking. The Ireland native has clashed with several prominent athletes and celebrities from other industries. He was famously involved in a social media spat with fellow Irishman, Stephen Farrelly a.k.a Sheamus. This feud began in 2014 when McGregor gave an interview to Sports Illustrated.

At the interview, McGregor fondly remembered the time he met Sheamus. It was before the “Celtic Warrior” became a WWE superstar. “The Notorious” and Sheamus were filming in a movie as extras in a prison scene when Sheamus told McGregor of his plans to join WWE. McGregor did not take it seriously but was happy to see him in WWE, a few months later. This is what McGregor had to say about seeing Sheamus in WWE in the interview given to Sports Illustrated:

As far as competitive fighting i's whoop his a*s. This is real here what I would. It would be no contest. But I have. I have much respect for the guy. He went and said he was gonna do something.

McGregor has bashed and praised WWE superstars before. He thought that WWE superstars like John Cena were no good. However, McGregor praised the old-school professional wrestlers. He has also praised Vince McMahon for growing the WWE to what it is now. Interestingly enough, Endeavor, the parent company of UFC bought WWE and merged it under the TKO umbrella.
