Conor McGregor could make his return to the UFC by the end of the year. Recently, McGregor revealed a three-fight plan for his comeback. It involves clashes with Michael Chandler, Justin Gaethje, and Nate Diaz. He wants to compete for the BMF title against Justin Gaethje. Former BMF champion Jorge Masvidal recently called out Gaethje for a BMF title match.

Gaethje responded no in the most polite manner. However, Conor McGregor did not take lightly to the callout. He went on Twitter to mock Masvidal. McGregor wrote, “The most un-bmf shout ever. He fights at 155. lol. B*tch. Get into that sauna, b*tch.” McGregor’s usage of words makes it a hilarious tweet. The Irishman must win against Chandler before he can move on to face Gaethje for the BMF title.

On the other hand, Gaethje has indicated that he would not defend his BMF belt in the near future. He will look forward to challenging the winner of Islam Makhachev vs. Charles Oliveira to compete for the lightweight title. If he loses the opportunity to become the lightweight champion, he could defend the BMF belt. The timeline remains a bit complicated at the moment.

Nevertheless, McGregor looks forward to the BMF title. Jorge Masvidal may have left the sport for good. He might not return for another fight. He has lost his last four bouts in the UFC. At this stage in his career, he might not be able to cut down to 155 pounds. Gaethje competes in the lightweight division, whereas Jorge Masvidal is a welterweight.

Recently, the Irish superstar Conor McGregor received his BJJ black belt. McGregor always wished to receive the majestic prize in BJJ. A certain portion of the MMA community took shots at McGregor’s below-average ground game. However, BJJ superstar Gordon Ryan came to the defense of McGregor on social media.

He said, “Well deserved. Despite what people say, you’re pretty exceptional on the ground, especially with MMA being your main focus.” McGregor is an exceptional striker and could knock out anyone with his power. Hence, he did not require grappling in his career to become a world champion. Gordon’s reasoning proves that McGregor could have become a better grappler had he focused more on grappling.

The best of two different disciplines respecting each other remains a wholesome part of the combat sports community. McGregor’s strengths lie in his striking game; even Ryan could recognize that. Similarly, the combat sports fan should appreciate McGregor’s achievement rather than mocking his ground game.
