UFC welterweight Ian Garry is the new talk of the town in the welterweight roster. The 25-year-old aspires to be as big as his fellow Irishman Conor McGregor. Undoubtedly, McGregor has achieved all possible riches in the combat game. Recreating such a career is difficult, but the young Irishman seems resilient in his goal.
McGregor and Garry, share a great relationship. Recently, both Irishmen went for a spar. A video released by Conor on Twitter showed a friendly spar between the two fighters. The spar started with both individuals sizing each other up. And further, proceeding to throw some leg kicks. Garry and Conor were both able to connect some of their shots in the matchup. The video ended with Conor’s attempt to throw a spinning head kick at the 6’3″ ft Garry. Many fans reacted to the clip. Some of them even mentioned the size difference between the two fighters. A fan commented, ” Okay do not let Conor fight at 170 he is soooo much smaller than Garry.“
McGregor has fought at welterweight three times in his UFC career. A 1-1 record with Nate Diaz and a 40-second win against Donald Cerrone. With some of his recent pictures online, McGregor was looking a lot bigger than his lightweight version. And there were many speculations about the Irishman’s plans to make more fights at 170. But even with the extra weight, Conor was looking smaller compared to his vast Irish compatriot in the Twitter clip.
Despite the speculations of a 170 lbs fight, Conor is set to fight fellow lightweight Michael Chandler in his UFC return, confirms UFC president Dana White.

Irish UFC star Ian Garry has looked upon fellow national Conor McGregor for motivation to be great. Garry and Conor, both share a great bond as numerous times Garry has mentioned McGregor in many of his interviews. Even McGregor has shown love to Garry’s skills and promised the UFC of a new star in the making. A clip of Conor and Garry in spar was released on Twitter. The video received a lot of fan reactions.
