Justin Gaethje and Conor McGregor despise each other. That has remained the case for years. The two even teased a potential fight between them numerous times. But, it never came to fruition. The animosity has stayed deep in their hearts. As such, when the Irishmand heard Gaethje boast about himself, he took a shot at him.
In a recent interview with the UFC, Justin Gaethje flaunted himself as the best in creating damage. The statement remained true as ‘The Highlight’ has always delivered action-packed fights and brutal blows to his opponents. But it didn’t convince Conor McGregor. As such, the Irishman put himself above Gaethje. This is what McGregor wrote:

Although Justin Gaethje and ‘The Notorious’ belonged to the best strikers category, they differed in many ways. Both fighters have secured numerous knockouts to their name – Gaethje with his thunderous power and McGregor with his timing and accuracy. Also, they earned bonuses for most of their fights, which put them closer to one another.
Justin Gaethje will fight at the historical UFC 300 against Max Holloway. This is the first time the UFC has booked a BMF title defense. While Conor McGregor’s acclaimed himself as the ‘Real BMF,’ he hasn’t fought in the past three years. After teasing his comeback multiple times, the MMA star hasn’t returned just yet. Recently, reports suggested he would face Michael Chandler this summer. If so, with a win, he might fight Justin Gaethje.
Justin Gaethje on fighting Conor Conor McGregor
Justin Gaethje fought Dustin Poirier at UFC 291 for the BMF championship. After a close first round, ‘The Highlight’ sealed the deal with a stunning head kick. Soon, Conor McGregor took it to X and boasted himself as the ‘Real BMF.’ This received a brutal response from the BMF champion.
At the post-fight press conference, Justin Gaethje addressed the possibility of fighting Conor McGregor. He harshly criticized the former double champion. Further, he trolled McGregor by saying one has to lose to fight him. Here is what he said:
I think he turned me down six times. And usually, you have to lose to fight him. So, I don't know what's going on.Justin Gaethje (Via UFC 291 Press Conference)
While a fight between them could settle the debate about the Real BMF, it didn’t look likely. A lot of things have to align for the fight fans to witness McGregor vs. Gaethje.
