“I’m the best boxer in UFC!” Conor McGregor trolls Petr Yan to his face with sly dig about boxing skills

Conor McGregor recently declared himself the best boxer in the whole UFC. McGregor announced this while at the IBA Champion’s Night in United Arab Emirates. This announcement came after he had a face-off against former Bantamweight champion Petr Yan.

McGregor was asked the question of what he thought about boxing.  Petr Yan, another very competent and successful UFC fighter was also present there with him. Yan became the target of McGregor’s subtle joke, claiming that he is the best boxer in the UFC may be interpreted as a sly jab at Yan’s striking talents. However, this was all in good humor as McGregor went on to praise Yan’s boxing talent afterward. This is what he had to say:

Love it, Boxing I love it. Im the best boxer in the UFC… Nah but he is a phenomenal boxer, phenomenal.

Those familiar with Conor McGregor‘s career will not be surprised by his announcement. The former two-division UFC champion had a successful MMA career and he also dabbled in boxing. McGregor notably stepped over into boxing in 2017 for a highly publicized showdown against Floyd Mayweather, demonstrating his athletic flexibility.

While McGregor does not have an unblemished boxing record, his desire to take on challenges outside of MMA tells much about his confidence and ambition.

Fight fans react to Conor McGregor’s claims about being the best boxer

Conor McGregor’s statement, made with his customary swagger, elicited many replies from fans. This exchange occurred at the IBA Champions’ Night in UAE when McGregor was asked about his stance on boxing. Although It was all fun, it drew a ton of reactions from fight fans.

Fight fans took to social media to voice their opinions on this matter. Some agreed with the Irish fighter’s claims, implying that he had proved himself.
