Ian Machado Garry is one of the most promising welterweights in the UFC today. Garry has a perfect MMA record of 12 wins and zero losses. He comes from the country of Ireland and looks up to Conor McGregor as an inspiration. Garry, like his idol, makes bold statements. He is scheduled for his next fight on the UFC 292 card. This will be his 6th fight for the UFC.
The upcoming UFC 292 has the main event featuring Aljamain Sterling and Sean O’Malley. This is a bout for the Bantamweight belt. Disregarding the main event Garry claims to be the center of attraction. He said, “I believe that I am carrying this card on my back, if it wasn’t for me, this card would go down the drain”. Just like him, his idol, McGregor is famous for bold and controversial remarks.
Garry’s primary focus was on boxing. It was after McGregor’s success that he learned other martial arts. He first began his career at the Cage Warriors franchise. Garry was the Welterweight champion there. His entry into the UFC in 2021 was much anticipated. With his impressive striking abilities, Garry has a notable record of knockouts. His last opponent was Daniel Rodriguez, and he won the bout in a dominant manner. After his last win, Garry is now number 13 in the UFC Welterweight rankings.
UFC 292 is scheduled to be on the 19th of August this month. Earlier Garry was going to be fighting Geoff Neal at the event but this was not possible. Due to health reasons Neal has withdrawn from the bout and has been replaced by Neil Magny. Magny may not have the perfect record, but he has double the experience inside the octagon. The bout will surely be a test for Garry’s skills.
Ian Garry is looking to maintain his perfect record of 12-0
Ian Machado Garry joined the UFC in 2021 and has won all his fights. He has impressed the UFC boss Dana White. Currently fighting in the Welterweight, Garry ranks 13th in the division. Just like his fellow Irishman Conor McGregor, he is also a great finisher. This is mainly because of his strong background in boxing. With a perfect record in his MMA career, Garry will face his next challenge in UFC 292.
Garry is surely one of the best contenders for the UFC Welterweight belt. He was the previous Welterweight champion in Cage Warriors. The opponent that Garry will be facing is Neil Magny. Fighting Magny will not be an easy task. He has been in the UFC for a longer time than Garry. His experience would be dangerous for the Irishman.
The main event of UFC 292 is Aljamain Sterling vs Sean O’Malley, the card is already a hit. Garry will be fighting to keep his undefeated record clean and Magny will have to hold on to his rank.
