“This is sarcasm btw,” Conor McGregor’s stance supporting MORE PAY for women athletes garners mixed reaction from fans

Conor McGregor is an avid supporter of the spectrum of women’s MMA. The fighter is a close acquaintance of Ebanie Bridges, Katie Taylor, Danni McCormack, and others. As such, McGregor diligently thrives towards Irish MMA and the inclusion of more Irish female combatants. “The Notorious” had recently praised Irish born-and-bred fighters McCormack and Taylor in tweets.
Recently, Forbes released the list of the Highest-Paid Female Athletes of 2023. The list featured the likes of Tennis stars Iga Swiatek and Coco Grauff. McGregor went on X to give his thoughts about the list. This is what he wrote:

Whether or not the fighter vocalizes his vivid support for all women-led sports is yet unknown; this might well be sarcasm. But a multitude of fans has prematurely jumped the gun, calling foul on McGregor’s notion of more substantial payments for women athletes.

Conor McGregor is a hardcore supporter of the cause of the inclusion of Irish combatants in MMA. Alongside, he has been a great ally and mentor to up-and-coming female combatants, both Irish and non-Irish alike. Former IBF bantamweight champion Ebanie Bridges and Shauna Bannon are prime examples.
Even the Australian boxer Bridges has detailed McGregor’s subsequent support to releasing her ‘OnlyFans’ account. Now, the Irishman has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to speculate about more pay for female athletes. Check out how fans have reacted to the matter.
Many fans have bashed such concession and anti-generalization stance from the fighter. They have consequently surmised that female athletes should be paid based on the commercial value they put out, as is the case with all typical athletes. Some fans have knowingly hinted at this as sarcasm on McGregor’s part.
