Johnny Walker is one of the eccentric fighters in the UFC. His recent fight against Magomed Ankalaev ended in controversy after the doctor’s decision after an illegal knee. After suffering setbacks, Walker relocated to Ireland to train under John Kavanagh, the head coach of Conor McGregor, at SBG Ireland. Walker even married from Ireland recently.

Training at SBG Ireland under Kavanagh would automatically mean that he is a teammate of “The Notorious” Conor McGregor. Walker is known for his eccentric performances inside and outside the cage. Interestingly, before his bout against Ankalaev, Walker gave an exclusive interview to TNT Sports. He revealed his desire to become a champion and that he did not care about anything else including food. This is what he said about his preparation for the bout against Ankalaev:

I just care about my performance, about my career. Everything that I do is for performance. I have good sleep. The food... like, I stopped using a microwave because I said, 'Maybe microwaves take the nutrients out of the food or something.' I don't know. I eat cold food, I don't care. I care about my performance. So, they can expect the best version of J.

Before his No Contest against Ankalaev, he was riding a three-fight win streak at light heavyweight. The light heavyweight title is on the line in the upcoming UFC 295 PPV, where Alex Pereira will take on former champion Jiri Prochazka. A win at UFC 294 could have put Walker as a number one contender, but hope is not last as the promotion is keen on rebooking the Ankalaev vs. Walker bout in the immediate future.
