“Not fighting the UFC standard,” Cory Sandhagen gets brutally honest about Sean O’Malley who fights Petr Yan at UFC 280

Sean O’Malley has looked very good so far in his career, but that doesn’t impress a seasoned UFC elite like Cory Sandhagen, regardless. O’Malley is one of the most bankable names in the UFC right now. He has been fighting unranked opponents throughout all the 10 fights in his UFC career but has been the fastest one to secure a position in PPV numbered events, that too in the main-card slot, making him make the most money with the easiest fights.

Cory Sandhagen accepts O’Malley has a decent chance against Yan as long as it’s 3 rounds

In an interview with Ariel Helwani at The MMA Hour, Sandhagen talks about predicting UFC 280 co-main event, his fight this weekend, his taste for coffee and music, his change and improvements in his perspective on life, his camaraderie with Ryan Hall and much more. In the midst of all, Sandhagen also talks previewing Sean O’Malley and Petr Yan‘s fight at UFC 280.

“I think because it’s a 3-round, he [Sean] has more of a chance but I don’t think he has a great chance honestly,” says Sandhagen. “And I like O’Malley, I don’t have any issues with O’Malley but if you’re looking at his track record, he’s beating up some guys, really bad but those guys haven’t been super great fighters as far as the UFC standard of fighter goes. And I think him and Munhoz was not the greatest fight in the world…” continued Sandhagen.
