The winner of this fight may get the title shot. For that to be a reality, they would have to go up against the winner of the Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou fight, or at least on paper that’s how it would go down.

The possibility of that is highly unlikely as the former light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones is all set to make his heavyweight debut. His arrival in the heavyweight division has the potential to change things around. UFC president, Dana White has dropped hints that suggest Jones’s direct shot at the title.

The UFC is very clear that Jon Jones would sell the most pay-per-view. Although Blade has been clear that he wants a shot at the title, he is ready with a backup plan.

Speaking to James Lynch from the Line movement he said, “If they end up giving the next title shot to Jon if Rozenstruik were to win, I’d take him. If not, I’d just wait,” Blaydes said. “I think Jairzinho, who’s also a former kickboxer (in Suriname), I think he’s got the power and the style to hang with Gane. I think it’s going to be a good fight, and if Jairzinho wins, he’s going to be an option.”

Curtis is eager to get that title shot and has looked past his fight against Derrick already.
