“Posturing and Propaganda” Dan Hardy reveals ex-employer Dana White “staged” his concern for Calvin Kattar during brutal 5-round beat down at Abu Dhabi
Hardy accuses White of pretending to be concerned only for the cameras
Dan Hardy, an ex-UFC employee has made his latest in the set of grave accusations against Dana White and his company. The once welterweight title challenger has now come out to reveal that what may have seemed like a genuine moment disolaying concern from White for one of his fighters is all smoke and mirrors.
Hardy worked the commentary booth for the UFC, taking the charge throughout the pandemic and it’s over seas events. He was let go by the UFC in early 2021 after he got involved in a dispute with a female employee while the UFC visited Abu Dhabi. Now the former fighter alleged that while his departure could have been more civil, he was already feeling discontent in the shady workings behind the camera.
As an instance of the same Hardy alleged that the seemingly candid moment between White and UFC Exec Hunter Campbell, where the president expresses concern for Calvin Kattar’s well being after suffering brutal punishment at the hands of Max Holloway for 5 rounds. White can be seen asking for Kattar to receive immediate hospice care after the fight, according to Hardy, that’s all part of the, “Nonsense, the posturing, and the propaganda “
“Going into the fifth round, and you have one guy that’s being beaten senseless by another fighter, right? Now, there is no reason why that fight shouldn’t have been stopped at the end of the fourth round, “ said Hardy as he detailed talking to the Freedom Pact Podcast on his belief that the fight should have been a doctor stoppage at earliest by round 4.
In a behind the scenes video of the event, White can be seen asking for Kattar to be taken to a doctor during the course of the 5th round. Detailing on how it was all a farce, Hardy said, “And it looks like, ‘Hey, they just caught this on camera across the arena.’ The dude was mic’d up. The receiver of the microphone was attached to the camera that was filming him from across the other side of the arena. That whole thing was staged to protect the UFC.”
Why was Dan Hardy fired from the UFC?
Dan Hardy was let go by the UFC in early 2021 shortly after the January series of Fight Island events. He allegedly got into a heated verbal agreement with a female employee of the UFC. While no further details have emerged, Hardy himself accepts no wrongdoing.
Talking about his release he wrote on an Instagram message, “It was a verbal disagreement between myself and a member of the UFC staff. It was forthright but not aggressive, and specific to work.” Hardy still works under the UFC’s umbrella as he is still employed by BT Sport, however he considered hie relations with the UFC to be “irreconcilable “
Even prior to this incident, Hardy was involved in a much more public and infamous dispute between himself and referee Herb Dean. This was caused by his confrontation with dean for not stopping the Francisco Trinaldo vs. Jai Herbert lightweight fight sooner.
