Dana White on Carla Esparza vs Rose Namajunas
Dana White reacts to Rose Namajunas vs Carla Esparza! Namajunas went against Esparza for the women’s Strawweight title. The fight was the co-main event at UFC 274, however; it failed to live up to its standards. The fight is now being regarded as one of the most boring fights in the history of the UFC.
The champion Namajunas was fighting to defend her Strawweight title. However, not only did she cannot do that, but both the fighters looked like they did not want to engage with each other at all. This was the second time Rose and Carla went against each other, and both the fights ended in Carla’s favor.
Namajunas and Esparza first fought in the season finale of The Ultimate Fighter. Esparza won the fight, submitting Namajunas to become the first UFC women’s Strawweight champion.
In the second fight, Carla won the fight via Split decision. Two judges had it 47-48 and 46-49 for Carla. But one judge scored it 48-47 in favor of Rose. The fight is now regarded as the worst title fight in the UFC and many claimed they even dozed off during the fight.
Only 6 punches were thrown during the first round and even the commentators pointed out how bad the round was. The second round was the same as the first, and both the commentators and the crowd showed their displeasure. The remaining three rounds were the same as the first two and in the end, it was very difficult to determine the winner as there was very little to score.
