There is no doubt that the UFC is the pinnacle of mixed martial arts as a sport. The UFC was brought up to fame by head honcho Dana White, however, White was not the only one responsible for the UFC’s rise to fame. White recently spoke about how he never used to attend weddings when he started his run in the UFC. However, one important wedding changed the course of the entire MMA world.
White spoke about how he met former UFC owners Lorenzo Fertitta and Frank Fertitta which led to the UFC’s major success. He said that he never used to attend weddings due to his focus on work. However White spoke about how he met the brothers at one wedding he had to attend. He said, “I go to this wedding, who do I run into? Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta and I haven’t seen them since high school and they come and approach me”. White continued, “Lorenzo told me that he just got into the Nevada State Athletic Commission and wanted to train with me”. Since then we have been together”.
White revealed that he had to attend his friend’s wedding as his friend helped him when he was poor. White went on to explain how he knew what fight fans wanted to see and spoke about how the UFC was not allowed on pay-per-view. He spoke about how Donald Trump helped him out by giving him permission to host events at his private properties.
The deal made between White and the Fertitta brothers was one of the biggest reasons for the sport of MMA’s introduction to the world. White has always worked hard for the UFC and his efforts finally paid off when he met the Fertitta brothers. There is no doubt that the UFC is one of the largest growing sports promotions in the world and will continue to do so.
How did the Fertitta Brothers and Dana White grow the UFC?
The Fertitta brothers, Lorenzo and Frank, along with Dana White, played a significant role in growing the UFC from a struggling, niche sport into a multi-billion-dollar global phenomenon. They made many changes to the UFC’s original model and used many techniques to grow it.
Fertitta brothers were wealthy owners of casinos and helped the UFC financially. They then went to the state athletic commission to legitimize the sport of MMA. Both the Fertitta brothers and White invested a lot of money to sign new talent. White was responsible for promoting the sport all over the world with his personality. They also signed major television deals with many huge promotions.
As a result of these efforts, the UFC grew from a small, struggling organization into a global phenomenon. The UFC is now the most popular MMA promotion in the world, and it generates billions of dollars in revenue each year.
