Dana White confirms Hasbulla vs Abdu fight for UFC 278

Dana White joked about a possible match up between the two rivals

Hasbulla Magomedov and Abdu Rozik have garnered the attention of Dana White and the entire MMA community for over two years. The two physically stunted adults have managed to become two of the most recognized names ever associated with MMA and they haven’t even stepped into the octagon yet. That just might be about to change.

At a recent interview with the Spinning Backfist podcast White was asked about a possible match up between the two and the answer was shocking.

Hasbulla first appeared in the MMA discourse when a short video of him punching and evading an Eagles MMA fighter went viral. At the time everyone thought he was an infant who had the courage to strike a UFC fighter. It only came out later that Magomedov was a full grown 19 year old who had a growth disability. From there, more information revealed he was a close friend of Khabib Nurmagomedov and his camp, starting the skyrocketing success the Dagestani managed to have in a mere 2 year span.

In stark contrast Abdu Rozik was already an established singer/performer by the time he first butted heads with Magomedov and was able to successfully latch on to the growing success of his counterpart and achieve worldwide fame.

The two achieved world wide renown when a press conference for their anticipated fight was released and it went viral over different mediums. This ultimately all came down to UFC 267 where each of the two backed two rising contenders in the Lightweight division. Magomedov backed his friend Islam Makhachev while Rozik was recruited into Dan Hooker’s crew. The two were in attendance cage-side and even traded blows with each other after the Petr Yan fight, requiring a few Arab sheikhs acting as security to separate them.

Recently when asked by the Spinning Backfist podcast about the UFC undertaking an official fight between the two, Dana White was all laughs. “You’re asking me if I have that on the radar yet? ” asked White to which the SB crew responded asking if the fight was already a part of the War Room big board. Dana jokingly looked at the match making board and replied “August 20th that’s when it’s happening. “

Confirming that the two Russian Titans were set to face off at UFC 278, Dana dismissed the topic but not before giggling himself over disbelief that he just said what he said. Do you think the two will ever fight or is the joke too stale for you?
