During the post-fight press conference, Dana White shared the conversation between Pereira and his corner before going into the last round. “I don’t if you guys have headphones over on your side but the corner in Pereira’s corner that round. It was like straight outta a movie. One of his trainers I don’t know who was like ‘You are losing this f***** fight. You need to knock him out in this round. You have to move forward, you have to throw punches. You have to throw combinations, let your f***** hands go. You’re gonna be a world champion in five minutes and then he gets up and goes out there. It was seriously straight out of a movie,” said White.

Moments like that are why the sport of MMA is so unpredictable. Anything can happen in a matter of a few seconds and anybody can win irrespective of the opponent they are facing.

In the first round, Izzy showed why things have changed as he was extremely close to knockout Pereira which was saved by the bell. As the fight progressed, Pereira was struggling on the ground and in the clinch. However, the fighter saved his energy for the last round and finally landed a devastating left hook which rocked Izzy and the fight was stopped by the referee.
