Movsar Evloev fought Arnold Allen in the main card opener of UFC 297. After going the distance, Evloev won the fight on the judges’ scorecards. All three judges scored 29-28 in favor of the Dagestani, indicating a clear win. Although Evloev’s performance was commendable, UFC CEO Dana White wasn’t impressed with the fight.

At the UFC post-fight press conference, Dana White expressed disappointment in Movsar Evloev’s fight with Arnold Allen. Here is what he said:

He’s on I think he’s like 18 or 19 (win streak) and that fight, sucked the wind right out of the Arena tonight. So it might bum him out, but he’s got to deal with it! Yeah that was the least fun fight anybody’s ever seen so he doesn’t have much to complain about. You know who lost that fight? the fans yeah so yeah he doesn’t have much to to b*** about on that one.

After the win in UFC 297, most considered Movsar Evloev had cemented his place in the featherweight division. Even Evloev called for a title shot soon. Now, after facing criticism from the UFC CEO, the Dagestani shared a picture of him from the fight as a response. The picture had blood draining out from his head to all over his face, indicating that his fight was entertaining and violent.

Although Dana White critiqued the Movsar Evloev vs. Arnold Allen fight, fans disagreed with him in the comments. As such, the fight went back and forth, with Allen getting the better of Evloev in striking and
Evloev used his wrestling to gain the initiative. Now, Evloev was on an eighteen-fight win streak with eight wins in the UFC. As for Allen, he faced a two-skid with this loss.

Movsar Evloev calls for a title shot next

Movsar Evloev solidified his spot in the UFC featherweight division after earning a victory over Arnold Allen in UFC 297. Also, this win might propel him into the top five as he beat the #4 ranked contender Allen. As such, he called for a title shot next. First, he addressed his callout in the octagon interview and then in the post-fight pressers.

In the post-fight press conference, Movsar Evloev remained confident about getting a title shot next. He claimed he was ready and wanted to face the winner of Alexander Volkanovski vs. Ilia Topuria. As such, he addressed the weakness in his UFC record of having no finishes and counter-argued that he was undefeated and deserved the title fight. However, he was also willing to go through anybody, anywhere, to grab the title.

Although Movsar Evloev solidified his spot as a top contender in the 145lbs division, Dana White wasn’t impressed by his recent fight. As such, one could predict that Evloev might not fight for the title next. But Evloev called his shots and made his to make his title aspirations a reality.
