“I could go on forever”- Dana White highlights Nate Diaz’s call-out to Francis Ngannou and explains why it’s hard to book him in a fight

Nate Diaz & Dana White

Dana White has had a tough time booking fights for Nate Diaz throughout his UFC career but that doesn’t mean the UFC boss won’t mourn the end of their relationship. Nate is on his last fight of the contract and Dana reflects on the Diaz brother’s career in UFC.

Nate Diaz has been asking for a fight for the past several months and the Stockton fighter’s wish has finally been granted. The UFC superstar will be taking on Khamzat Chimaev, the rising welterweight talent, in his last fight of the contract. The fight is booked for the main event of UFC 279. It seems very unlikely that Diaz will fight again in the UFC after being with the company since 2007.

In a recent press conference, Dana White came out and reflected on booking Nate his last fight. Nate has been bashing the company for not giving him a fight and Dana explains the difficulties in coming to terms with the Stockton slugger behind the scenes. “Yeah, I care about Nate a lot. I like Nate and he came in here long before that fight was ever made and…I was like, ‘go do whatever you want to do, man,'” said White on how the Nate vs Khamzat fight came about.

“Getting a fight done with him isn’t as easy as it seems. ‘Why don’t you make a fight? Why don’t you make a fight?’ Well, he asked for Francis Ngannou. I could go on forever [on Nate’s crazy demands] but I won’t,” said Dana talking to the media about why it takes the UFC so long to book Nate a fight.

A lot of the fans were very critical when Nate Diaz vs Khamzat Chimaev fight was announced by the UFC. Many believe that this UFC’s ploy to send off Diaz on a devastating loss for all the times he has talked ill about the company while being under contract. Dana, however, has cleared that up for everyone in the recent press conference.

“That’s the fight he wanted. We made it and here we are. And it’s a good fight. It’s a fight people would want to see and people would be interested in,” said Dana. The UFC boss then went on to talk about how things are coming to end with Diaz.
