UFC President Dana White is one of the few individuals that are excited for UFC flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko’s fight this Saturday not because it’s another opportunity for Shevchenko to display her dominance, but because the fight might go against Shevchenko’s favour. Shevchenko is looking forward to defending her title for the seventh time against Brazilian upcoming prospect Taila Santos in the co-main event of UFC 275.

The main event of UFC 275 is headlined by a light-heavyweight title fight between the champion and also, the oldest first-time UFC champion in history Glover Teixeira going against the challenger and a very seasoned knockout artist in Jiri Prochazka. Another fight to look out for is a rematch between former UFC women’s strawweight champions, Zhang Weili and Joanna Jedrzejczyk. UFC 275 is happening in Singapore and is the first-ever numbered UFC PPV event to be held in an Asian country.

In an interview with Aaron Bronsteter from The Sports Network, White talks about the majority of the MMA fans’ attitude toward Taila Santos being just another easy fight for Valentina Shevchenko just because Shevchenko has been running through her opponents in her title reign for nearly 4 years.

“The big problem with this fight is this is a very dangerous fight for Valentina Shevchenko and not enough people know it,” says White continuing to say that it’s one of those fights where you might consider chances of a huge upset happening. White has also suggested watching a feature that breaks down their fight and shows how tough Santos is going to be for Shevchenko.

What do you make of White’s short but valued assessment of the co-main event of UFC 275? Do you think we will see another title defence for Shevchenko or a massive upset in favour of Santos? What are your predictions for the rest of the card of UFC 275?
