Ahead of UFC 290, Dana White talked to experienced veteran Aaron Bronsteter. Bronsteter asked about the potential fight between Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor. For the first time, the UFC President transparently revealed information about the situation. Dana has not given much information about Chandler vs. McGregor bout in the past. However, he surprised the fans and Bronsteter with his answer this time.

Dana White said that he hoped to book the fight this year. He also diverted the question away to highlight the importance of UFC 290. White stated that he would not think so far ahead and would only deal with things when it was time. He said, “UFC 300 isnt even in my mind right now, the Conor thing. Who the hell knows? A faction of fans and analysts believe that the UFC will exempt McGregor from booking the fight with Chandler. The most important aspect of the interview remains the fact that Dana stated that McGregor and Chandler would fight. Recently, Dana White stated there was still a chance of Conor McGregor fighting in 2023. The Irish fighter has not fought since his devastating leg injury in 2021. His proposed comeback fight will happen a good two years after his last fight.

The Irish fighter trained with Jiu-Jitsu expert Dillon Danis to prepare for his comeback fight. However, some of the fans did not appreciate McGregor’s training with Danis. They cited Danis’s lack of experience as the determining factor for criticism.

If McGregor can stay motivated to train properly, the fight with Chandler would easily go his way. Despite the experience, Chandler remains an explosive fighter, and it has not panned out in his favor. Hence, a properly trained McGregor can easily break through Chandler’s reckless style and defeat Chandler.
