Amidst the public hatred for LeBron James’ political stand, UFC CEO Dana White raises his hand in support. He believed in not judging people on their political beliefs. As such, the UFC CEO backed the basketball star and praised his character as a person. Further, he extended his thoughts and compared the contemporary star to Michael Jordan.
Dana White recently appeared on The Sage Steele Show, where he was mistaken for Joe Rogan. Giving his take on the ‘Killer Instinct’ of athletes, White delved into the hatred LeBron James received. As such, he unveiled the personal side of the basketball player and listed out his good qualities. Here is what he said:
I don’t judge anybody by their politics. LeBron is one of these guys that that became a massive superstar overnight you never hear anything bad about LeBron...Guy is never in trouble, he's obviously a great father to his kids, a great husband to his wife - There isn’t too many things that you could say about LeBron that that are bad unless you just don’t agree with them politically which is ridiculous anyway to judge somebody on their politics.Dana White via The Sage Steele Show
Dana White remained by his words while leading the UFC. He maintained freedom of speech for fighters despite the promotion facing heat from the media for some fighters’ controversial comments. Sean Strickland topped the list. Although White disagreed with him, he didn’t restrict a single thought from his athlete.
Further, White openly supported his longtime friend Donald Trump politically. But, it doesn’t mean he opposed others’ opinions to have different beliefs. As such, he respected the political beliefs of LeBron James and only acknowledged him for his character. He even praised the basketball legend for his work ethic and achievements.
Dana White speaks about Killer Instinct – Michael Jordan or LeBron James?
The debate of ‘Greatest of All Time’ in basketball predominantly remained between Michael Jordan and LeBron James. The comparison of two different generational talents definitely posed some difficulties. However, UFC CEO Dana White clearly went with Jordan, given he was a huge fan of the MJ.
Dana White expressed his furiousness over a basketball team from Maine being punished for being ‘too good.’ As such, he spoke about the importance of ‘Killer instinct’ and immediately mentioned Michael Jordan’s name. Comparing him to LeBron James, here is what the UFC CEO said:
I love Michael Jordan. I love the killer he was (and) everything about him. I hear all the things about Michael Jordan even the bad. I love that about Jordan, and then - Michael Jordan and LeBron couldn't be any more opposite in my opinion. I respect (LeBron James) very much. (But) Jordan is just my fu****g [arghh...] I love Jordan!Dana White via The Sage Steele Show
Being a huge fan of Michael Jodan, Dana White’s claims remained biased. Nevertheless, six final appearances and six wins with no losses back up White’s claim. After all, how can people in the 90s forget Jordan’s clutch game-winner over the Utah Jazz in the 1998 Finals? However, he gave LeBron James his feathers.
