Kamaru Usman is currently set to face Leon Edwards in the main event of UFC 278 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Welterweight crown is on the line for this rematch. While their first meeting ended in a loss for the Brit, he will be looking to change that. If successful he will be the second champion from Britain after Michael Bisping.

On the other hand, the Nigerian is looking to continue his dominance in the division and defeat Edwards twice. The champion has recently also hinted at a possible move to Light Heavyweight to claim the title and cement his legacy. Usually, Champions move one weight up or down from their original weight class to attempt the double champ status.

However, The Nigerian has very good relations with the Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. Therefore he wants to skip 185lbs and fight at Light Heavyweight to claim the double champ designation.

White stated, ” “He’s the pound-for-pound greatest in the world, he’s the best welterweight of all time, if he wants to move to heavyweight, I’ll do it, I wouldn’t tell him no. I just don’t think it’s a good idea. I’m not his manager, I’m not his trainer. I’m his promoter,”

“Let me tell you what I was saying yesterday at the press conference about Kamaru Usman, This guy fights all the time, never turns down a fight, never backs down from anybody, has to fight guys two times in a row, and never says no, so why would I say no to him?” White added.
