Dana White reveals Charles Oliveira’s and other UFC 280 walkouts will be shown live at the massive college football clash between Ohio and Iowa State

White revealed that some of the UFC 280 walkouts will be shown at the college football clash between Iowa and Ohio State
Dana White revealed that the walkouts for Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev alongside one other main card fight will be played live at the college football game between Iowa State and The Ohio Buckeyes. What may seem like a minor revelation during his latest interview with BT Sport is actually a testament to the sport’s growth across the United States.
Talking about the insane levels of excitement surrounding the upcoming card in Abu Dhabi, White cited all kinds of metrics about how well the card was doing. Even claiming it was, “trending higher than Gaethje vs Khabib” the first fight former champion Khabib Nurmagomedov would compete in since the death of his coach and father, which would ultimately be his retirement bout.
However the next bit of PR trivia from White truly set the scale of the event in perspective. “So the big college game tomorrow is between Ohio and Iowa State, huge in the United States, they’re showing O’Malley and Yan’s arrival and then the main events arrival, in the college football game tomorrow” said White, emphasizing, “that’s how big this fight is”
While for the average international UFC fan this information still may not sound impressive enough, it would help to consider that the average viewership for these college games can trend in the 10s of millions. Ohio itself is known to hit a season high of 10 million viewers for their games.
Who is fighting at UFC 280?

The fight card is essentially an international card and hence the co-promotion along with one of America’s favorite sporting leagues is always a welcome surprise.
UFC 280 is scheduled to take place on the 22nd of October in Abu Dhabi at the Ethihad Arena. In what is being called the most stacked card of the year, the main event will feature the lightweight chalsh between former champion Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev for the vacant belt.
The co-main event will feature a bantamweight title bout between current champion, Aljamain Sterling looking to make his second defense against former two-time bantamweight champion, TJ Dillashaw. The undercard will also feature a bout between Sean O’Malley, a hyped prospect and former Bantamweight champion, Petr Yan.
