There are other promotions in the yard, but the immense popularity of the UFC allows them to dominate the market. Dana credits their elite fighters for their success, and it’s a well known fact that UFC is responsible for creating some of the well known fighters in the history of MMA. Dana was reluctant to sign any female athlete to his organization, and he even claim women wont ever compete in the UFC.
Ronda Rousey is an Olympic medalist in Judo, and she took the MMA by a storm, and it caught the attention of Dana. He welcomed her in the UFC, and she went on an absolute tear to become the role model for many female fighters to come.

In an interview with Pat MacAfee, he said, “I mean that when, I first met like Ronda Rouseys and Conor McGregors and even Chuck Liddell a long time ago, my current champion Julianna Pena, these people approached me and told me what was going to happen and how this was going to be done.”
