The UFC just concluded their highly anticipated UFC Mexico event. It was a success as the event produced exciting fights. However, it was a bad day in office for the hometown favorites Brandon Moreno and Yair Rodriguez. Nonetheless, Dana White was in a festive mood at the post-fight conference.

The Fight Night event also witnessed a fight in the audience. A journalist asked whether such an unfortunate incident was bad for the UFC’s PR. However, Dana White did not see it as such. Moreover, he even shared an interesting story about what he saw at the fight. This is what White said.

I was watching it. Nobody stopped it. I was waiting for security to come in. They just let them go till its over.... No security. The fight just went on until the fight was over. I've never seen any sh*t like that in my life.

White also stated that something like that never happened in the UFC. However, White found it very confusing when security stayed idle as the fight happened. The videos of the brawl in the audience spread like wildfire on social media. As White explained, the fight went on in the video, and everybody around stood still for the fight to finish.

Even though the brawl outside the octagon caused worry for White, the brawls inside the octagon impressed the UFC CEO. Daniel Zellhuber and Francisco Prado got the Fight of the Night bonus, while Brian Ortega and Manuel Torres got the Performance of the Night bonus.

Dana White agrees with the split decision victory for Brandon Royval

UFC Mexico City had Mexicans in the main and co-main event. However, both lost their respective fights. Brian Ortega submitted Yair Rodriguez in the third round of the 5 round co-main event. In the main event, Brandon Royval won via split decision against former two-time featherweight champion Brandon Moreno.

Two judges had the scorecard 48-47 for Royval, while the other had 49-46 for Moreno. Many thought Moreno won the fight, but UFC CEO Dana White was not one of them.

White remarked that he agreed with the decision at the post-fight press conference. Moreover, he also stated that the people he talked to agreed with the decision. Furthermore, White praised Royval for the pace he put, which he felt was the decisive reason for his victory.

Both Moreno and Royval were coming off losses to Alexandre Pantoja in flyweight title fights. Pantoja was in the audience and had earlier expressed interest in fighting the winner of Moreno and Royval at UFC 301 in Brazil. Therefore, Royval called out Pantoja after the victory, which the champion agreed with.
