UFC commentator Joe Rogan and the president of the company Dana White are good friends. An interview recently surfaced of them discussing Floyd Mayweather and his uncle Roger Mayweather. The duo touched on the toughness they carried in the ring alongside a story involving them pistol-whipping in the Top Rank boxing gym.
An understated aspect of Floyd Mayweather’s life is his beef with Top Rank gym. Top Rank is a boxing promotional company that famous promoter Bob Arum founded. Although this was rarely revealed to the public, Dana White, who visited Mayweather’s gym quite often, touched on the subject. On the ‘The Joe Rogan Experience‘ podcast, the UFC commentator and White went into detail on the alleged story.
“Did you ever hear about the Floyd Mayweather thing, when he was dealing with those rap guys, they came in and beat people, pistol-whip people, and s***?” asked Joe Rogan. Without missing a beat, Dana White answered, “I remember it. I heard about it too. What I heard was the dude who was managing him at the time was a hardcore, like a real dude. I heard he walked into Top Rank.” It seemed like White carried some insight into the situation.
He also said, “Pistol-whipping people and f****** pulling out guns with Floyd and s***. Whatever their beef was, got it straightened out.” Although Dana White revealed his absence during the incident, the president of the UFC seemed to know about certain details of the incident.
When Floyd Mayweather complimented Dana White
During the Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather world tour, ‘Money’ had nothing but nice words for the president of the UFC. At the press conference held in Canada, the crowd was extremely hostile toward the retired boxer. However, the boxer decided to compliment Dana White for his several endeavors and success throughout his career.
“Dana, I can never disrespect you. I’ve known you for 21 years. You’ve done a hell of a job with this company. And, I wanna continue to watch you grow. I wanna watch you continue to build the UFC. It’s all about combat sports. No matter what I’ve said about you in the past, as a man, I look at you in the face and apologize and tell you I’m sorry. You the boss, Dana White, you fly. Dana White, me and you got money,” yelled Floyd Mayweather.
Despite the complimentary words Floyd Mayweather had for Dana White, both shared a hostile relationship in the past. Both personalities had gone back and forth in a lot of press conferences and interviews due to the disagreements they shared.
