Anthony Smith and Alex Pereira are similar in some ways as they moved from middleweight to the light heavyweight division. Smith lost to Jon Jones for the light heavyweight title, while Pereira is the former midweight division champion.

Smith commented on Alex Pereira’s move up in weight, saying that the Brazilian was not a scary monster in light heavyweight. Pereira reigned as a giant monster in the middleweight division. Smith’s comments did not go well with “Poatan,” who roasted Smith on his YouTube channel. He described “Lionheart” as a washed-up fighter. Recently, Smith faced Ryan Spann at UFC Singapore and won by decision. It was a rematch of the fight that Smith won by submission.

The chances of Smith and Pereira fighting are slim as both are in different career stages. Pereira is a title hopeful, while Smith’s best days might be behind him. Smith has consistently come up short when facing elite fighters.
