The new groundbreaking deal between UFC and WWE will change the landscape of combat sports. Former UFC President Dana White will serve as the new CEO of the UFC. This deal brings a lot of changes in the combined organization, i.e., TKO Group Holdings. Recently, after this successful deal, White was asked about his opinion on including boxing as a part of this merger.

In an interview at the Dana White’s Contender Series, White answered questions about any future plans to promote boxing. White was affirmative about the plan. Further, the media asked him about his plans to create one or take over other boxing promotions. To which Dana replied, “I would create.” There were just a lot of short replies from the new CEO regarding the boxing part. Further, when asked to elaborate on the plan for boxing, White declined the request.

On many occasions, White has expressed his opinion on the state of boxing in the present world. White has voiced his views over promotions failing to sell their shows and making bad matchups. This is something that could change under the supervision of White in the future boxing company.

Dana White’s plan to launch Zuffa Boxing

Previously, in 2016, UFC’s parent company, Zuffa LLC, planned to launch a boxing promotion. This plan included UFC CEO Dana White’s huge contribution. The UFC president planned on leading the promotion. However, after facing multiple obstacles, the boxing launch was postponed for 12-24 months.

In interviews, White showed his keenness in making boxing more entertaining for the fans. Currently, the UFC boss is investing time and money in launching Zuffa boxing as early as possible. When asked about his reasons for this hardship, White said he wanted to do everything he could to give the people what they wanted to see in the sport. Undoubtedly, this launch could affect the boxing industry by bringing more eyes to the sport.

Undeniably, the success of Zuffa Boxing lies in the hands of Dana White. The promoter has never failed to organize huge events in the combat industry. In 2017, White played a huge role in organizing the Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight. And all fight fans are witnesses to the success of that event.
