UFC’s featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski is focused on his impending trilogy fight with former champion Max Holloway. Volkanovski has already defeated him twice and will be hoping to put a stop to their feud when they meet in the co-main event of UFC 276 on July 2nd.
Volkanovski is moving like a wrecking ball, and after taking care of business at UFC 276, he wants to move up to the lightweight to test his skills against Charles Oliveira. This conversation started when Charles teased a featherweight comeback to challenge Volkanovski for the belt.
Even though he is no longer the champ, Volkanovski likes the idea of fighting him, and he would love to join the exclusive ‘champ-champ’ club. Volkanovski talked about it in a recent interview Alex said, “When I look at Oliveira – dangerous fighter. Dangerous fighter, lot of people like watching fight, exciting fights. But obviously, he showed that he can be beat. He showed that in his last few, even if they were exciting. He was almost beat every one of those times. The thing is with me I ain’t giving him opportunities.”

Dana White believes Alexander Volkanovski has earned everybody’s respect by now
UFC president Dana White was blown away by Alex’s last two performances, and he believes this fight could be the biggest one we’ve seen so far, and after putting up performances like these, Alex can have whatever he wants. Talking about it in a recent interview with The Mac Life, he said:
“Volkanovski is one of those guys who has earned the respect of everybody by now. It probably makes sense to do this (Holloway trilogy) and put this behind him, and you don’t have to hear about it anymore. That guy can do whatever he wants to do. If he wants to move up and challenge somebody at 155, I’m down for whatever he wants.”
