UFC president Dana White prepared a custom made belt for Mexican UFC champion Alexa Grasso in light of the Mexican Independence day.

Mexican UFC champion Alexa Graso will headline UFC Fight Night in a main-event matchup against Valentina Shevchenko. Grasso will defend her flyweight title against Shevchenko at the T-Mobile Arena. The fight will take on the same day as the Mexican Independence Day. UFC president Dana White revealed a custom-made belt for Alexa Grasso in light of this auspicious occasion.

In an Instagram post, White displayed the belt, and wrote, “This will be her championship belt. She’ll have the other one, but we’re gonna present her with this one and she’s gonna defend the title against Shevchenko on Mexican Independence Day on September 16th.” Further, White also mentioned that a Mexican-based company made this customized belt for their beloved champion. Many UFC stars reacted to this post, including Alexa Grasso. Irish Superstar Conor McGregor commented, “Incredible!“.

Previously, Mexican national Yair Rodriguez was also on the receiving end of such a gesture from the UFC. Grasso will be pumped for her fight as she gets to show her respect towards her country’s Independence Day. All eyes will be set on the champion as she deals with Shevchenko in the octagon.

The world is no stranger to the disputes between UFC president Dana White and former champion Aljamain Sterling. In a recent interview at the Dana White’s Contender Series, the UFC boss explained his opinion on the former bantamweight champion.

Dana White likes Aljamain Sterling as a person but struggles to understand the constant “self-sabotage” of his own career.

White started by praising Sterling for his achievements. He also spoke about how Sterling shared great energy in one-on-one conversations but chose to make bad public decisions. White pointed out situations where Sterling’s words have not exactly made him a ‘people’s favorite.’ Further, the UFC boss also mentioned the situation between Merab Dvalishivili and Sterling and how he disagreed with the whole thing. Reportedly, Merab wanted Sterling to compete for the title rather than stepping into the octagon himself.

There were situations in the past where a sense of animosity was present between White and Sterling. The former bantamweight champion has never shied away from criticizing the UFC boss. Despite these attacks, White showed all praise for Sterling in his interview.
