The MMA world expected Islam Makhachev to return quickly after his spectacular first-round knockout in UFC 294. As such, they wanted him to rematch Charles Oliveira in Q1 of 2024. But, the UFC CEO Dana White revealed Makhachev was recovering from an injury and put forth a #1 contenders fight between Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan. Now, Makhachev’s teammate posted a video of the lightweight champion playfully kicking and spinning. This raised questions about White’s injury statement.

In the Instagram video posted by ‘Seifulla_magomedov,’ Islam Makhachev threw a 360-degree spinning kick to a dummy. Although he playfully tried the move, he knocked the dummy out of its pole. As such, one fan compared him to the Karate wizard Stephen Thompson. Also, this video raised questions about Dana White’s injury claim.

Earlier, Makhachev revealed his availability to fight in March, before Ramadan. But, Dana White, in his fight announcement video, claimed he was injured and couldn’t fight anytime soon. Fight fans soon felt dubious on hearing the news. Now, this video of him demonstrating a spinning kick only increased their doubts.

Islam Makhachev last fought Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 294 and knocked him out in the first round to defend his title. As such, Justin Gaethje and Charles Oliveira were front-runners to challenge for Makhachev’s title next. But Oliveira takes on a #1 contender’s fight amidst the unavailability of the Dagestani. Now, Makhachev took to X and announced his plans for 2024, which revealed his intention to fight Gaethje next in June.

UFC CEO Dana White returned with fight announcements this week and revealed an exciting matchups between four lightweights. As such, he mentioned Islam Makhachev being injured. But, Makhachev’s teammates revealed the champion’s physical activity through their socials, leading the fans to question White’s claim. As such, he showcased a spin-kick in an Instagram recent video.

A video of the lightweight champion taking muscle-ups went viral questioning Dana White’s injury statement. Now, a video of Makhachev doing a 360-degree spinning kick made the fans believe White lied about the status of the Dagestani. So, they trolled the UFC CEO on X and expressed their honest opinions. With this evidence, fight fans mocked Dana White and questioned his claims. However, many still noticed the technique of Islam Makhachev and praised him. Also, they made comparisons to Stephen Thompson and Zabit Magomedsharipov. As such, they awaited Makhachev’s return. Hopefully, as Dagestani mentioned in his recent tweet, he might return to headline UFC PPV in June to fight Justin Gaethje.
