Charles Oliveira has put a doubt in one of Islam Makhachev’s biggest advocates Daniel Cormier after the performance at UFC 274. DC is starting to believe Islam’s path to gold won’t be too easy.

Daniel Cormier has become a huge fan of the former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira in recent times. ‘Do Bronx’ is coming off an amazing win against Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC 274. This has become a routine for Oliveira to finish his opponents. DC, who was in the commentary booth is absolutely stunned by the Brazilian.

For many UFC fans, the fight to make is Charles Oliveira vs Islam Makhchev for the vacant lightweight title. DC has been one of the biggest advocates of the Russian lightweight and has believed that he will be the next UFC lightweight champion. However, DC has taken the backseat with his prediction after the recent performances of Oliveira.

In the recent episode of ESPN MMA’s DC & RC Show, Cormier talks to Ryan Clark about his thoughts on the potential Islam vs Charles fight. “More than ever after Saturday, I’m like, Man, I still think Islam beats him but I’m less sure than I was going into that fight,” said Cormier talking about his reaction to Charles’ win at UFC 274.

“I thought nobody could ever compete with Islam. But this kid is special,” said Cormier on Charles “Do Bronx” Oliveira. “Now RC, he is gonna get knocked out. Let’s put it out there. At some point someone is going to get him enough where he is not gonna be able to recover,” said DC on Oliveira being dropped in his last three title fights.

Oliveira was stripped of the title for missing championship weight by 0.5 pounds ahead of the UFC 274 weigh-ins. The fighter is now the number one title contender and his next fight will be for the title. Islam is aiming to fight for the title next after his spectacular winning streak and recent finishes inside the octagon. Makhachev has also called out “Do Bronx”.
