UFC Vegas 55 went down at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada this past weekend. The Fight Night was headlined by the crucial bantamweight bout between Holly Holm and Ketlen Vieira. The two women’s bantamweight fighters fought an excellent fight for five rounds and left the results in the hands of the judges.

Holly dominated Ketlen for most of the fight and also doubled the numbers in terms of significant strikes throughout the five rounds. However, Ketlen was awarded the victory via split decision and it caused outrage from viewers of the fight including the commentator, Daniel Cormier. The former double champ could not believe what he was hearing as Ketlen Vieira got her hand raised.

Cormier decided to give his thoughts on the judges’ scoring immediately after he got home. “There was a fight a bit ago which I thought was all wrong,” said Cormier in his recent YouTube video. “The Holm fight last night was wrong. This is no knock on Ketlen Vieira. This is not a direct attack on one particular.”

“This is me saying what I feel and where I believe the blame resides. And the blame resides in judging,” said Cormier bashing the judges for mixed martial arts. “There are a lot of times where we are calling the fights and we are lost talking about the judging, what we think the scorecards will be and how the fight will look in the end.”

DC complains that judging has become the main topic of conversation which has put pressure on the commentators to address that topic forcing them to divert from their actual job of calling the fight. Holly Holm, who was on the losing side of the judges’ card at UFC Vegas 55 was also very disappointed and claimed that it was very clear she had won the fight against the Brazilian bantamweight.
