Former UFC double champion Daniel Cormier is renowned for his prowess inside the cage, but he also possesses a protective instinct when it comes to his family. Married since 2017 and a father of four children, Cormier’s love and care for his family are evident. Tragically, he had to endure the loss of his daughter in a car accident, which undoubtedly deepened his commitment to his loved ones.
Interestingly, he appeared on the Pivot Podcast last year after being inducted into the prestigious UFC Hall Of Fame. During the podcast, Cormier recalled an incident where his son was being bullied by a girl. Cormier said, “I pushed a little girl down one time, I was fighting then I was wired a little different a little girl keep beating on Daniel, she push him down so I push her down and said you like that?”. This story from Cormier cracked up the podcast’s hosts and left them shocked.
The heavyweight legend also spoke about another incident where his son was bullied on a playground. Cormier said that a kid at a playground didn’t want to wait his turn to go on the slide. He then went to the father of the kid and said, “If your kid push my kid one more time, imma push your a*s down…get your kid under control”.
Daniel Cormier is highly regarded for his well-rounded skill set as a mixed martial artist. Furthermore, Cormier’s rivalry with Jon Jones is one of the most iconic in UFC history, as they engaged in two closely contested battles. Furthermore, his achievement of holding both the UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight championships simultaneously solidified his legacy as a double champ.

Daniel Cormier strongly feels that middleweight champion Israel Adesanya cannot lose to Dricus Du Plessis. The South African earned himself a title shot after dominating No.1 ranked middleweight Robert Whittaker. Cormier gave his thoughts on the post-fight interaction between Adesanya and Du Plessis.
Cormier was unaware of the rivalry and asked UFC commentator Joe Rogan, who told him the story behind their rivalry. Du Plessis had commented on Kamaru Usman, Francis Ngannou, and Adesanya when they dominated UFC as the “three African kings.” After learning the history behind the rivalry, Cormier said, “Imagine if he loses to Dricus? That’s the one guy he doesn’t want to lose to. You can’t lose to him. You’re in a situation now where you cannot lose.”
The fight between the two middleweights was set for UFC 293, but Sean Strickland may replace Du Plessis as the title challenger. Fans will be looking forward to a grudge match between the two fighters soon.
