“Jon Jones will be bigger”- DC believes size could be the deciding factor in the heavyweight clash between Jones and Miocic

Jon Jones currently is absent in the rankings as he relinquished his light heavyweight world title after his bout against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247. He turned in focus preparing for his long-anticipated heavyweight debut and making sure he is in the right heavyweight frame. Jon Jones wants the best of the best in this division, even after a long lay off he doesn’t shy away from a challenge.

With Francis Ngannou out from the action, Jones called out for a fight against another legend of the division, Stipe Miocic. In a recent Tweet, he wrote, “The greatest heavyweight of all time versus the greatest light heavyweight, who wants to see it? I’m game.”

Dana White himself claimed that they would very much like to book this fight, and if Jones is eyeing a summer return, they can talk to Stipe as well. In an interview with TMZ, he said, “I was just telling somebody the other day, our lineup for this summer is incredible,” White said. “So I’m hoping Jones is going to be part of that lineup this summer. … Stipe makes sense.”

“Lot of different storylines”- DC offers his insight on the heavyweight clash between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic

Daniel Cormier has faced both of these guys, and he talked about this possible matchup on ESPN’s DC & RC show, he said, “I believe that this is an evenly matched fight because I’ve been in there with both of the guys. Jones has different weapons than Miocic, but Miocic has some crazy weapons himself. For a big guy, he does a lot of things really, really well, and what I believe that is interesting in the matchup also is that Jones will be the 205-pounder coming up.”

He added, “Stipe is a lifetime heavyweight, Jones will be bigger because if you look at Jones now. He’s a big boy, and Miocic has been slim for a while. So a lot of different storylines playing into this one because does Stipe put on weight? Does Stipe stay small? Does Jones get smaller as he approaches the fight?”
