YouTuber turned boxer Logan Paul defeated BJJ star Dillon Danis on the Misfits Prime card. In what was one of the most stretched grudge matches, even outside the ring, the matchup went in Paul’s favor via disqualification. Despite his defeat in the boxing ring, Danis received praise from his best friend/mentor, Conor McGregor. However, MMA fans did not take the matter lightly to heart and have called the defeat quite embarrassing.

What a show, brother! Well done! The world is excited for what’s next! Legend…” wrote McGregor on X. “Are you not entertained? I was impressed, good shots, you needed to believe in those shots more and more. Some of them were alright,” he said in a since-deleted tweet (h/t Dan Hiergesell of MMA Mania). McGregor analyzed Danis’ performance positively and said his shots were right; he just needed to have more volume.

The DAZN Pay-per-view saw the boxer dominate rounds one to six. Danis, being an MMA fighter was truly out of his depth. In the last round, Danis opted for a double-leg drag, takedown, and a guillotine choke. Both of these are not allowed in boxing. Moments later, Danis incited a brawl, which led to his disqualification.

Logan Paul did not leave the ring unscathed. He suffered a black eye despite having dominated the match with better advantage and grapple reach. Paul called out McGregor after the bout for a 2024 bout. However, the bout might not happen because McGregor will entertain such fights.

While McGregor was all praises for friend Danis, he bashed the boxer for the callout. He praised Danis’ effort overall despite the fan reactions. Shortly after, he shifted attention to the boxer, who alluded to achieving nothing in this match. He even scorned Paul for not having subdued or hurt his opponent, Danis, at all.

McGregor hasn’t fought since his defeat against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, where he sustained a leg injury. Although he and the boxer have an icy banter that follows through on social media, none have revealed the official dates for any such intended matchup. Furthermore, Conor McGregor might not entertain a fight against the Paul Brothers.
