Donald Cerrone talks about Paddy Pimblett weight fluctuations
A lot of controversies surrounded the rising lightweight superstar Paddy Pimblett recently. Donald Cerrone, a veteran of the sport takes Paddy’s side for his burst in weight being a lightweight.
Paddy Pimblett is a guaranteed entertainer on the microphone and also inside the octagon. Paddy takes his entertaining to another level on his social media platforms with a lot of trolling. Though Pimblett always fights in the lightweight division, the Liverpool fighter is astonishingly overweight when he has no fights booked. Recently the Scouser revealed to the world how heavy he weighs during the off-season which blew fans’ minds.
This weekend, Donald Cerrone jumps into the octagon with Joe Lauzon for a lightweight co-main event fight. Cerrone himself is not a regular lightweight. The veteran keeps switching between the welterweight and lightweight divisions. Ahead of his fight against Joe, Cerrone attended the media presser and was asked his opinions on Paddy ballooning in weight. For someone who is a veteran and an old head in the sport of mixed martial arts, Cerrone is very okay with Paddy’s actions.

Donald Cerrone talks about Paddy The Baddy’s weight fluctuations
Donald spoke about his weight for the upcoming fight and said he has been floating around 166 pounds and 168 pounds. Cerrone says he never went full “Paddy” with his weight gain. Following that comment, Cerrone was asked about Paddy’s weight fluctuations and Cerrone was really supportive of the youngster during the presser.
“Hey man, he is still young. He got it in him. The only problem with him getting big is the first part of the camp is gone in losing the weight,” said Cerrone about Pimblett. “He is still young, he is learning and playing. I mean, sh*t, go do it. If you like Pizza, you like Lasagna, and beer, eat it, brother because you earned it.” Getting support from someone like Cerrone must mean a lot to Paddy The Baddy given he gets into trouble with the rest of the roster quite often.
Paddy weighs approximately 80 kilos during his off-season and manages to cut weight after his fight is booked. Paddy’s next fight is booked for UFC London this July at the O2 Arena. Paddy will have tons of fans cheering for him in his country and if Paddy can make weight is still a question.
