“He is irreplaceable,” Donald Trump credits Dana White for rescuing UFC from the brink of shutdown

As of today, the UFC is a multibillion-dollar organization that has produced star athletes for the combat sports industry. However, the company did not always receive such huge support from its fans. Many did not want to be associated with the sport bringing it to the brink of shutting down. However, Former US President and an avid fight fan, Donald Trump, wholeheartedly believes that Dana White played a big role in reviving the UFC.

Donald Trump has made it known that he is an avid fan of combat sports and enjoys watching UFC events. He has been a great ally of UFC and a good friend to UFC President Dana White. Apart from White and other UFC shot callers, Trump maintained a healthy relationship with the fighters. During his unfiltered interview with UFC, Trump talked about helping the UFC during its early days. He added that UFC would not have survived without Dana White, and he is irreplaceable.

“You know those early years for UFC were very tough. I got the inside scoop from a few people they were close to closing it down a few times and they kept it going,” said Donald Trump.” I give tremendous respect to the initial group and also to Dana, I don’t think anybody could do what Dana did. I don’t think this guy is replaceable,” added the former President.

Apart from praising Dana White and the UFC, Donald Trump also revealed his love for the fighting game. For someone who was a former President of the USA and is currently running for the presidency, Trump knows a great deal about fights.

Who is Donald Trump’s favorite UFC fighter ?

It’s no new news that Donald Trump is a huge fan of MMA. The former US President is an ally of the company and a good friend of Dana White. The duo has collaborated on numerous occasions. He has attended several UFC events and always receives a cage-side view of every fight.

While Trump maintains a healthy relationship with many UFC fighters, he also has his select favorites. Dana White, during his interview after UFC 287, revealed the identity of those fighters. According to White, Trump is a huge fan of ex-UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal. Gamebred is a huge supporter of Trump and has aided him in his presidential run. Masvidal recently retired after his loss to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287.

Another one of Trump’s favorite fighters is Masvidal’s best friend turned nemesis, Colby Covington. The former President even called him up after his win over Tyron Woodley to congratulate the fighter. Both fighters are huge supporters of Donald Trump, so it is not difficult to see why Colby and Madvidal are his favorite fighters.
