Conor McGregor has never been afraid of going after people that have nothing to do with him. Even in the buildups to his fights, he goes after his opponents’ personal lives, families, and issues. Nothing and no one seems to be safe from The Notorious’ vicious trash talk.

His latest target seems to be the recently crowned AEW champion, MJF. The AEW champ called Paddy Pimblett “dollar store Conor McGregor.” And it seems the former two-division UFC champion has not taken very kindly to the American professional wrestler’s comments. He also backed up Paddy Pimblett against the comments made by MJF.

In a tweet targeted at MJF, McGregor wrote, “A dollar store Conor is still worth millions! Let’s go young Paddy Pimb! Don’t know who this other clown is.”  The tweet also contained a screenshot of an article from TMZ Sports whose headline contained the comments made about Paddy by the AEW champion.

The American pro wrestler became the youngest world champion in AEW history at Full Gear. However, getting on McGregor’s bad side does not bode well for MJF. Although, the incessant and sometimes unnecessary trash talk is a part of MJF’s wrestling persona. And this excellent heelwork by MJF is just one of the reasons why he is the 6th AEW world champion.

‘The Notorious’ kicked the proverbial hornet’s nest back in 2016. In a conference call during the promo for UFC 202, the Irishman was asked if he had any inclinations toward making the jump to professional wrestling. His response was not kind, to say the least.

However, this flew relatively under the radar. What seemed to really kick things off was when Conor “apologized” to the WWE and its fans. He sent out a Tweet that said, “I didn’t mean no disrespect to the @wwe fans. What I meant to say was that I’d slap the head off your entire roster. And twice on Sunday’s.” WWE superstars did not take this lying down as a bunch of them shot back at Conor.

They made fun of the former UFC champ’s size, and his loss to Nate, and also alluded to his UFC fights being fixed. Even his Irish brethren, Sheamus and Becky Lynch went off on. Ric Flair in particular did not hold back as he lambasted Conor for his conduct and said he should be more like his peers, Ronda Rousey, and Anderson Silva. He also alluded to the fact that the “Notorious” gimmick took inspiration from Ric Flair.
