Dustin Poirier thinks beating Charles Oliveira would be easier than Khabib Nurmagomedov. Dustin Poirier is one of those top UFC fighters who haven’t won the UFC championship belt in their career. 

Poirier has been performing great for many years now and has competed for the belt twice but unfortunately lost two of his shots Poirier got defeated by Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 242 for the first time. The ‘Diamond’ again failed to get his hands on the title when he lost to Charles Oliveira at UFC 269. Recently, in an interview with Jon Anik, Dustin Poirier was asked about two of his lost fights.

“If you could have a rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov or Charles Oliveira, is one of those fights more winnable?” Asked Anik. “I think Charles is a more winnable fight,” replied Dustin Poirier.

Poirier didn’t take much time to reply and mentioned that he thinks that he can beat Charles Oliveira in a rematch. On top of it, the Oliveira rematch is the only one between the two that can actually happen in the future.

When can Dustin Poirier and Charles Oliveira fight again?

Poirier’s loss against Khabib Nurmagomedov was massive and after the fight, Poirier was very emotional. However, since then he developed a great amount of respect towards Nurmagomedov. 

There are various interviews in which Poirier mentioned that the ‘Eagle’ was just on a different level that night. Poirier bounced back from that loss and went on a three-fight win streak by beating Conor McGregor and Dan Hooker. After that he got his second title shot and this time, it was expected for the fighter to win. However, this time it was Charles Oliveira who destroyed Poirier’s plans to become the new champion.

Since then, Poirier has been constantly waiting for his opportunity to settle the score with the Brazilian. Currently, Oliveira is not the champion but it might change at UFC 294 when he will face Islam Makhachev. Similarly, the winner of Justin Gaethje vs Dustin Poirier 2 might get a direct shot at the title.
