Seems like UFC lightweight Dustin Poirier is not gonna be impressed by Michael Chandler no matter whatsoever when it comes to the latter’s durability. Poirier was last seen fighting in December 2021 for the second title shot of his career against then lightweight champion Charles Oliveira at UFC 269. Unfortunately for him, Poirier lost the fight via third round submission. Poirier is now looking forward desperately for someone to fight as he doesn’t even have a fight booked and nearly half of 2022 has passed.

Chandler was last seen at UFC 274 where he secured one of the greatest knockout victories in UFC history against former interim champion in Tony Ferguson. In just four fights, Chandler has made one of the best UFC debuts ever, landed in a title fight where he won the first round, delivered a fight of the year performance and now this. Besides that, Chandler has managed to have a bad blood history between him and Poirier ever since May 2021 when Chandler got his first UFC title shot.

In an interview with legendary boxing trainer Teddy Atlas on his podcast, The Fight With Teddy Atlas, Dustin Poirier talks about his future in the fight game, his take on his previous opponent Oliveira’s win over Justin Gaethje and much more. Poireir also talks about Chandler asking for a Conor McGregor fight and how that would go.

“I think Conor is a dangerous fight for him,” says Poirier “I am not saying Chandler’s chinny or anything, but he gets hurt in a lot of his fights and guys like Conor, they can punch… If you’re getting hurt by Tony Ferguson and dropped by Charles Oliveira, guys like me, guys like Conor, if we touch your chin, it’s gonna be bad, concludes Chandler.

What do you make of Poirier’s assessment of Chandler withstanding McGregor in a fight? Do you think he is right? Who do you think would win between Chandler and McGregor, or even between Poirier and Chandler if they ever fight? What are your thoughts on Chandler’s success so far in just his 4 fights?
