“Everything I worked for,” Dustin Poirier hilariously pulls off Max Holloway’s leg for asking for floral UFC shorts
Dustin Poirier- Max Holloway
As UFC Lightweight Dustin Poirier waits for some serious contender to show up to fight him on his next proposed date which has come down from July 30, 2022, to August 20, 2022, he wouldn’t mind having fun on Twitter meanwhile. Poirier was seen inside the Octagon last year and we’re nearly halfway through 2022 now. Poirier lost his previous fight via third-round submission to former UFC Lightweight champion Charles Oliveira at UFC 269.
Poirier is looking forward to multiple opponents to choose from for his next fight, though his primary option is Nate Diaz. However, with no progress to make that fight happen as it seems, Poirier has received multiple call-outs from the likes of Gilbert Burns and Sean Brady. Poirier is also ready to fight his personal foe and former teammate, Colby Covington if no one is ready to fight Poirier. Poirier however also had subtle back and forth on Twitter with UFC lightweight and former Bellator MMA champion, Michael Chandler.

Dustin Poirier coming for Max Holloway’s floral shorts as the latter asks for them
Former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway is fighting next month at UFC 276 in a trilogy against current champion Alexander Volkanovski, against whom Holloway is 0-2 in his previous two very close fights. Holloway quotes fellow featherweight Bryce Mitchell’s tweet of receiving customised shorts to tell UFC’s official gear partner, Venum, that he wants floral shorts personally designed for him.
Poirier quoted Holloway’s tweet further and said “You’re taking everything I worked for” Basically Poirier is known for having a wardrobe with floral shirts which is evident from his dress-up for pre-fight and post-fight conferences. Poirier and Holloway have a competitive history as well since they both fought each other for the interim UFC lightweight championship back in 2019 at UFC 236.
Meanwhile, Holloway shows off his photoshop skills to send an alternative to Poirier’s shared wish of having floral shorts. Fair to say, the idea is not that bad.
What do you make of this short yet hilarious Twitter incident involving Holloway and Poirier? Who do you think wins between Holloway and his next opponent Alexander Volkanovski next month at UFC 276? And who do you think will be Poirier’s next opponent? Where do you put Poirier and Holloway amongst the most fan favourite fighters of all time?
