Right after Dustin Poirier was submitted in the 3rd round of his fight against Charles Oliviera, you could visibly see how upset the challenger was about coming up short on a crack at the title for the second time. Only strong men could maintain their composure and do the right thing in even the most trying times and Dustin Poirier is one of those men.

After taking a few moments on the ground to contemplate the fight, the Diamond got up to congratulate a jubilant Oliviera who had just made his first title defense. Calling out to a translator, Dustin Poirier made clear his intentions of wanting to donate to a charity of Oliviera’s choice. The exchange started with Oliviera wanting to know if there was any help Dustin needed with his Good Fight Foundation.

Dustin said he was proud of what Oliviera was doing to empower the youth of Brazil and wanted to “support the kids” through a foundation based in his city. “I want to donate $20000,” said the former interim champion, he continued, “You chose where the money goes” after which Oliviera embraced his opponent for the selfless act.

Today, The Good Fight Foundation just announced the completion of the donation via a post on their official Instagram. “Promise made, Promise Kept” read the message that goes on to file their support of Charles in his mission to empower the youth of Brazil, having started his training in a free gym himself. “All the best to you in your upcoming title defense,” reads the message extending their good wishes to the champion as he gets ready to make his second title defense against Justin Gaethje.

Oliviera himself is no stranger to good deeds. Notably, “Do Bronx” was seen back at the favela after he won the Lightweight Championship against Michael Chandler. He was seen distributing sacks of supplies to his countrymen who were severely affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
