The story of Themba Gorimbo struck a nerve in the MMA community. His family abandoned him after having little to no money in his bank account. MMA villain Colby Covington came to his aid before his fight against Takashi Sato. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also came to the gym in Florida to help UFC fighter Gorimbo out. The Rock posted the interaction on Twitter along with a wholesome message.
He wrote, “We’ve never met, but I had to fly to Miami to look this man @TheAnswerMMA in the eyes, hug him, and shake his hand. I’ve been moved & motivated by his story. He recently won his first fight in the @ufc. After the fight, he sold his fight gear (trunks & gloves) on line and made $7,000. Instead of using the money to find a place to live, he built a bush pump so his village back in Zimbabwe can have clean water. He never asked me for anything, but I just wanted to help the guy out. $7 Bucks ya know. And I felt the MANA & emotion in every hug. Very good and very special day.”
Before his fight against Sato, Colby Covington had to bring him food because he could not survive with less than $7. The intervention of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson could also motivate the UFC fighter to pursue his dreams. Gorimbo wants to become the welterweight champion and will work hard to achieve his goals.
Recently, Dwayne Johnson landed in trouble due to not paying the UFC fighters through his shoe deal. However, the gesture to Themba Gorimbo has made the fans forget about the shoe scandal. Hopefully, Themba Gorimbo will turn around his fortune for the better and fulfill his dreams.

Welterweight fighter Themba Gorimbo has fought twice in the UFC. He holds a record of a win and a loss inside the octagon. The Rock recently surprised him in the gym; the video has gone viral online. Dwayne Johnson praised Themba for his dedication and Samaritan nature.
After meeting The Rock, Themba has found some new motivations. He went on Twitter and warned everyone about his plans. He wrote, “Working day in day out to feel the level of happiness that you Rise. I am a champion in the making. Tell them I’m coming.”
Themba stands 186 cm tall and will have a height advantage over other fighters. If he can improve his overall ability as a fighter, he can certainly contend for the title. Hopefully, Themba Gorimbo becomes a ranked contender, if not a champion.
