Dana White gets praise from Eddie Hearn
Dana White has been an absolute kingpin in the world of fighting. The UFC promoter has the biggest of respects from his rival boxing promoter Eddie Hearn.
Dana White, the President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship took over the business when it was merely something and has absolutely helped it skyrocket in terms of global reach and popularity. White has played a very huge role in the growth of the sport of mixed martial arts and boxing promoter Eddie Hearn recognizes that.
Eddie recently appeared on the MMA Fighting show hosted by journalist, Ariel Helwani. On the show, Eddie gave huge praise to White and regarded him as one of the best promoters in the world. Eddie and Dana share a very good relationship and have crossed paths multiple times in the past. Hearn admits that he dos not rate himself above the UFC boss purely because of the contributions to ones work.
“I’m not in awe of Dana but I have huge respect for him,” said Hearn while comparing himself with the UFC boss. “If you say it to me, ‘are you the best promoter in boxing?’, it is not even close, genuinely. But Dana White, I see him as a trailblazer, not even as a promoter, in terms of business.”
Eddie Hearn believes Dana is a trailblazer in the world of promotion
“The way that sport, that brand has penetrated the global market…I can’t sit here and say I am better promoter than him,” said Eddie, giving the UFC president the biggest of praise. “Like I don’t know because the proof is in the pudding in terms of the growth the business has had.”
Eddie was recently in an UFC event held in London. The boxing promoter visited the O2 Arena with his boxer Anthony Joshua and had a talk with UFC boss, White. Eddie on the MMA Fighting show said that Dana had built such a business that despite not knowing who the fighter were on the card, people turned up to watch it solely based on the magnitude of the promotion.
