Edmen Shahbazyan is one of the best young talents currently in the UFC. Edmen was once seen as a potential title contender but later suffered 3 consecutive losses which derailed his fighting career. Shahbazyan fights in the middleweight division of the UFC and is #15 in the UFC middleweight rankings.

Edmen made his UFC in the Dana white contender series season 2 and won his first 5 fights in the UFC. However, Edmen suffered 3 consecutive losses in UFC and since then, has not fought again. Edmen then changed his manager and according to him, this has been the best decision. Edmen last fought in November 2021 and has been training to improve since then.

Edmen Shahbazyan trained under the watchful eye of Edmond Tarverdyan, who is well known as Ronda Rousey’s long-time head trainer. In fact, Tarverdyan and Rousey teamed up to guide Shahbazyan’s career while working with them as coach and manager. However, Edmen ultimately changed his manager and joined star manager Ali Abdelaziz in Las Vegas.

Talking about his relationship with Ronda after their split, Edmen revealed that although both don’t talk very often, he has respect for her. In his interview with MMA Fighting.

Edmen Shahbazyan said: “I needed to change. It was time. It was definitely time for me. It could have been done sooner, but now I’m just happy to be here and get the new work in. I have not talked to them since I left. From my end, I have a good relationship with them. I don’t have any problem. All respect cause I respect what they’ve done for me, but on my end, I’m good. I haven’t talked to Ronda in, say, a few months. I have nothing against her, respect from my end. As far as my end, I don’t have no ill will.”

Edmen Shahbazyan changed his representation and left Edmond Tarverdyan and Ronda Rousey for Ali Abdelaziz. In doing so, Edmen has not fought in almost 8 months. Edmen was once regarded as a top title contender, but after his 3 consecutive losses, he has failed to make a bold impression in the Middleweight division.

However, the 24-year-old fighter now feels confident about his fighting skills and revealed he is happy about changing his manager. Ali is one of the biggest star managers and manages players like Kamaru Usman, Islam Makhachev, Gilbert Burns, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and many more.

Talking in his recent interview, Edmen Shahbazyan revealed what Ali Said to him about his career and what is his plans are in the UFC. Edmen said: “When I went for the first time to meet up with Ali Abdelaziz, he said one of the main things if he signed me was he’s not giving me a fight for like seven or eight months. He just wants me to get work and improve and just get better.”
