Elon Musk was a recent guest on the JRE. In the podcast, Musk described the events that led to the fallout of his proposed fight with Mark Zuckerberg. Musk and Zuckerberg were rumored to fight in the Colosseum much to the amusement of many. Unfortunately, the fight fell off due to a variety of reasons.

Musk clarified to Joe Rogan the events that led to the fight cancellation

If it's going to be in the Colosseum, we're not like. I like UFC and everything but we don't have like tons of ads and UFC branding on the Colosseum because it's historical. It's a place of great history. You don't want to just have it be all like NASCAR. So then Zuck pulled out.

The tech giants were both against competing under the UFC banner inside the Colosseum which is a historical monument. However, for as long as it lasted, the thought of Zuckerberg and Musk fighting was an entertaining one. It also created a divide even within UFC fighters with the fighters picking sides.

Alexander Volkanovski and Israel Adesanya who have trained with Zuckerberg sided with the META CEO. Fighters with right-wing political leanings sided with Elon Musk. Notably, Colby Covington raised his hands to train Musk for the fight.

Khabib Nurmagomedov was enquired to train Musk for the fight. However, he refused citing religious reasons. Nurmagomedov’s head coach, Javier Mendez was the one who broke the news of his refusal to train the tech billionaire.

In his recent appearance on JRE, Elon Musk divulged various topics. One of the topics discussed was the rumored fight between himself and Mark Zuckerberg. Musk clarified that the cancellation was related to branding disputes. Moreover, Musk also said that Zuckerberg being smaller than he is should refrain from fighting him.

Interestingly, Musk was relatively calm when speaking about Zuckerberg. It is very different from his demeanor on social media where they are at each other’s throats. Even though Musk has not competed in martial arts recently like Zuckerberg, he has had experience in his youth in Judo and Karate.
