Dana White-led UFC faces a class action anti-trust lawsuit. The judge presiding over the case made many documents and emails public about the lawsuit. From the documents, the fight purse of many superstars of the UFC became public. The highest-paid athletes were Conor McGregor and Brock Lesnar. On average, Lesnar made more than McGregor.

Now, former UFC welterweight title challenger Jon Fitch had some things to say about the UFC. Fitch is one of the initial three fighters who filed the class action lawsuit against Zuffa LLC. Nate Quarry and Cung Le were the other two. Fitch tweeted out excerpts of his YouTube podcast on X. This is what he captioned the tweet.

UFC are some dirty ass prices of a garbage. Look at the way they bully and use tick for tack to fix fights.

On the podcast, Fitch revealed cheap negotiation emails from Joe Silva, the then-matchmaker of the UFC, to Fitch’s manager. From the email, it became evident that the practices of the matchmaker were disgraceful. Moreover, Fitch delved into the topic of the UFC giving favorable matchups to certain fighters and thereby predicting the result.

Fitch fought Georges St-Pierre for the welterweight title. Moreover, he also challenged for the Bellator welterweight championship against Rory McDonald but was unsuccessful. However, he became the PFL welterweight champion. PFL is the only promotion where he became a world champion.

Dana White’s UFC’s controversial ex-matchmaker

Jon Fitch recently criticized Joe Silva, the controversial ex-UFC matchmaker, for his role in cheap negotiation tactics. Silva left the UFC in 2016 when Endeavor bought Zuffa LLC. However, Silva had a lasting impact on the UFC; negative and positive. Many fighters have remarked that Silva was a negative influence on fighters, in addition to Fitch.

Former UFC champion Eddie Alvarez has stated multiple times how Silva tried to prevent Alvarez from becoming champion. Silva even infamously asked Roland Delorme to fight in December, even though the fighter had stated months prior that he would be unavailable. Even more notorious was his request to Gray Maynard to break the hand of opponent Roger Huerta for Huerta’s comments about the UFC.

Silva also had positive aspects. He made some of the biggest fights in the UFC. Moreover, many fighters were grateful to Silva for his contribution. Even Khabib Nurmagomedov only had nice things to say about Silva after retirement.
